(Windsor) Windsor Spitfires Vice-President and General Manager Warren Rychel today announced the signing of Anthony Cortellessa, Windsor's tenth round pick in the 2010 OHL Priority Selection to an OHL contract and education package.

Cortellessa, a 16 year-old left-winger and native of Toronto, Ont., is listed at 5'9" and 170 pounds. He played 88 games for the Toronto Marlboros of the Greater Toronto Hockey League and scored 41 goals and 68 points for the Marlboros last season. Cortellessa also played some of his best hockey when it counted most in the 2009-2010 campaign, as he helped lead the Marlboros to the OHL Cup championship game and scored six goals in seven games during the tournament.

"We are very proud to add yet another quality player to the Windsor Spitfires organization with the signing of Anthony earlier today. He is a very speedy winger who reminds me of a young Eric Wellwood. Anthony is an extremely talented player who could've been selected much earlier in the draft and we were very fortunate to acquire him with our tenth round pick. He will be attending our training camp this upcoming week and we are looking forward to seeing him in a Spitfire uniform," said Warren Rychel.
