Florida Everblades News Release

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today that Steve Passineau and Tim White have been hired by the club as the equipment manager and athletic trainer respectively.

Passineau joins the Everblades after spending the past four seasons as the assistant equipment manager with the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League.

"Steve comes highly recommended to us," Poss said. "He gained a lot of experience in Albany and had targeted a head job as his next move. He's the kind of individual we want in our organization that works hard and takes responsibility."

Passineau's experience also includes time as the head equipment manager of the Albany Firebirds of the Arena Football 2 league from 2008-09. Passineau first worked with the River Rats from 2003-2006 while attending Hudson Valley Community College as the locker room attendant.

The other newcomer sees White become just the second athletic trainer in the history of the Everblades, taking over for Todd Wisocki who held the post from the inception of the club in 1998.

"We're very sorry to see Todd go, but we understand him wanting to spend more time with his family." Brush said. "Todd was the quintessential athletic trainer and he will certainly be hard to replace. As a fixture behind the Everblades bench for over 800 games, he will be sorely missed by players, coaches and fans alike and we wish him the best in his future endeavors."

White joins the Everblades after spending the last two years on the training staff at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. While with the Bobcats, the St. Paul, Minnesota native served as the athletic trainer for the men's soccer, lacrosse and hockey teams. In January of 2010, White also worked with U.S. Women's hockey team prior to Olympics.

White, who earned his master's degree in exercise and sport science with an emphasis in psychosocial aspects of sport at the University of Utah, worked with the school's football and volleyball teams before joining Quinnipiac University.

His athletic training experience also includes stints in the National Football League with the Kansas City Chiefs during the 2003 & 2004 seasons and with the New York Jets during the 2005 season.

"Tim also comes highly recommended to us," added Poss. "He's a good people person and very competent in his position. He's an athlete himself and is extremely knowledgeable about proper nutrition and preventative measures to avoid injuries."
