Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa-The Waterloo Black Hawks have welcomed Erinn North to their business operations staff, the team announced Thursday.
North will take on the role of Group Sales Director for the franchise, responsible for promoting and coordinating the Black Hawks group ticketing efforts. In addition, she will serve as the assistant manager of the Black Hawks' box office and the team's offseason community activity coordinator.
"One of the reasons we were able to grow our attendance so dramatically in the past decade was the presence of so many groups," said Waterloo Black Hawks President Doug Miller. "If our organization is going to enjoy continued success, this is a vital responsibility. I know Erinn is the right person to take on this challenge."
Originally from the Twin Cities, North is no stranger to Black Hawks hockey after serving on the team's game operations staff since January of 2009. During the summer of 2009, she worked as a Marketing and Fan Development intern with the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets. Her sports experience also includes organizing youth baseball tournaments in Minneapolis and St. Paul for the Metro Baseball League.
"The Black Hawks have helped me learn a lot about the business of sports already," said North. "The flexibility we offer groups makes it really easy for people to come to a game with their friends or their coworkers. I'm really looking forward to helping fans make their plans to be the rink this season."
North graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly during May with a degree in Business Administration. She spent three seasons on the Knights' varsity women's soccer team.
For additional information about group discounts for any party of 15 or more people during any Black Hawks home game in 2010-2011, call the Hawks at (319) 232-3444. Group reservations are currently being accepted for the Hawks' home opener against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders on Saturday, October 2nd, as well as the 29 other games at Young Arena during the campaign. Individual game tickets will go on sale in mid-September.
