K-Tribe Vs. Potomac Notes for Wednesday

Kinston, now just 1 1/2 games out of a playoff spot with 19 games to go, tries to win their fourth straight game tonight at 7pm at Historic Grainger Stadium.

Two For Tuesday - Kinston swept Tuesday night's doubleheader with Potomac, taking game one 3-1 and winning 5-3 in game two. Donnie Webb's go-ahead two-run single in the fourth inning led the K-Tribe to victory in game one. Austin Adams pitched five innings for the win and Chris Jones threw two innings for the save. In game two, Juan Diaz's two-run homer to center capped a four-run first inning on the way to the sweep. Marty Popham picked up the victory and Cory Burns collected his league-leading 24th save.

Double Trouble -After last night's sweep, the K-Tribe is 10-4 in doubleheaders this season, with three sweeps and four splits (suspended games included).

Grainger Greatness - Kinston has won seven of their eight contests against Potomac at Grainger Stadium this season. The Nationals have scored just 2.9 runs per game in Kinston. Overall, the K-Tribe leads the season series 10-5, their best record against any Carolina League opponent. The Indians bat .267 in the series against the P-Nats. Kyle Bellows (.321, 3 HR, 12 RBI) and Doug Pickens (.364, HR, 6 RBI) have had the most success against Potomac.
