THE HILLCATS: Last night Lynchburg bested Kinston 3-1 in the middle game of a three-game series with the Indians at City Stadium...The Hillcats have taken the first two games of the set, now won five of their last six games and seven of their last nine...Tonight is the final game of the series with the K-Tribe and game three of a seven-game homestand...

VS. KINSTON: Lynchburg is 13-6 against Kinston this season and they are 6-3 against them at City Stadium...The Hillcats went 10-10 versus the Indians in 2009 and were 6-4 at Grainger Stadium...Lynchburg is 161-153 all-time against the Indians...

K-TRIBE CRUSHING: Last night the Hillcats improved to 13-6 against the Indians, their best mark against any opponent this season...This season they went 7-3 at Kinston and they won five of their last six games this season at Grainger Stadium...Their 7-3 mark at Grainger is their best record in any ballpark this season, including their own (26-32)...The Cats have now won seven of eight against the K-Tribe...

CARRY ME HOME: The Hillcats have won the last two games to start their seven-game homestand after entering the series 3-13 in their last 16 games at City Stadium...Lynchburg is 11-8 in their last 19 road games, including a 5-2 mark on their most recent road trip...

HELTER SKELTER: The Hillcats have made 89 transactions so far this season, and have seen a total of 52 different players on its roster...Today RHP Carson Blair returned to Low-A Dayton...Yesterday OF Andrew Means was placed on the Disabled List and RHP Justin Freeman was promoted to Double-A Carolina...RHP Nick Christiani was transferred from Double-A Caroline back to Lynchburg...This season 49 different players have seen game action, as RHP Dallas Buck was on Lynchburg's roster for one day in April and did not appear in a game...

IF YOU LOVE SOMETHING, SET IT FREE: RHP Justin Freeman was promoted to Double-A Carolina yesterday from Lynchburg...He was 1-2 with a 2.91 ERA with seven saves and 11 holds for the Hillcats...The righty was first in the league in games pitched (45), tied for fourth in games finished (26), second in holds, first in amongst relievers in lowest walks per nine innings (1.13) and third in fewest base runners per nine innings (9.70) at the time of his promotion...After posting an ERA of 7.88 in April (seven earned runs in eight innings), Freeman had a 2.08 ERA the rest of the season (11 earned runs in 47 and 2/3 innings)...The reliever had the longest scoreless innings streak this season by a Hillcat (16 and 1/3 innings)...

WELCOME TO THE DOJO: LHP Donnie Joseph pitched an inning and 1/3 last night to earn his 15th save with Lynchburg and his 21st of the season (six with Low-A Dayton)...He leads the team and is second in the Carolina League in the category...The lefty has notched a save in his last four appearances and is now 15-for-17 (88%) in save opportunities with the Hillcats and 21-for-25 (84%) on the season...In six appearances this season against the Indians, Joseph has not given up a run in six and 1/3 innings and is 4-for-4 in save chances...

QUOTH THE RAVEN, NEVERMORE: RHP Josh Ravin pitched six innings, gave up one hit and did not give up a run in winning his Advanced-A and Hillcats debut Friday night...After two of the first three batters of the game reached base safely, the righty set down the next 16 in a row he faced to close out his evening...

THE SHANE-ING: INF Shane Carlson went 1-for-4 with a double Friday night, extending his hitting streak to a season-long 11 games dating back to July 23...Over that time, Carlson is 15-for-43 (.349) with four multi-hit games and six RBI...The RBI total in the span more than doubled his total with the Hillcats before the stretch...He has raised his batting average from .234 to .280...The streak is the longest active streak (INF Chris Richburg also has an active streak at ten), and is now tied for the second longest so far this season...Day's 15-game streak that was snapped during the last homestand is the longest, followed by OF Josh Fellhauer, INF Alex Buchholz, and OF Denis Phipps tied for second, each with 11-game hit streaks...

TONIGHT'S OPPOSING PITCHER: LHP T.J. House was selected in the 16th round of the 2008 draft out of high school in Mississippi...Last season he made his professional debut with full season Low-A Lake County and he went 6-11 with a 3.15 with 26 starts...This season he progressed to Advanced-A Kinston and he has gone 5-8 with a 3.62 ERA in 23 games(22 starts)...He was the 12th ranked prospect in the Indians minor league system prior to the season according to Baseball America...House has made three starts against Lynchburg this season and is 0-2 with a 4.61 ERA (seven earned runs in 13 and 2/3 innings)...
