Stamps' Store to Host Alumni

The Stamps' Store this Saturday will host members of the Stampeders team that played in the first game at McMahon Stadium 50 years ago, alumni from the Red and White's 1970s squads and members of the current Stampeders.

The event is part of the celebrations for the 50-year anniversary of McMahon Stadium, the 65th anniversary of the Calgary Stampeders and the CFL's 1970s Retro program.

On Saturday, Aug. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., fans can come meet the players, get autographs and check out the 1970s-style jerseys and other Stamps retro gear.

Where: Stamps' Store - McMahon Stadium, 1817 Crowchild Tr. NW

When: Saturday, Aug. 14 - 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

On Sunday, Aug. 15, the Stampeders will play host to the Edmonton Eskimos, 50 years to the day of the inaugural game played at McMahon Stadium.

To commemorate the occasion, the Stamps will be honouring their home and the individuals who played a key role in the stadium's history. The Stampeders will also be sporting special retro jerseys, a nod to the Stamps teams of the 1970s, including the 1971 Grey Cup champions.
