Moncrief's two-run big fly helps Scrappers win game one against Crosscutters

Brooklyn, NY - The Mahoning Valley Scrappers won game one of this three-game series with the Williamsport Crosscutters 7-4 tonight at Eastwood Field.

Carlos Moncrief's two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth gave the Scrappers a 6-4 that they wouldn't relinquish.

The Scrappers added another run on a Jordan Casas RBI double and won 7-4.

Casey Gaynor came in from the bullpen and got the win for the Scrappers, while Nick Kirk shut the door earning his fourth save of the season.

Julian Sampson was saddled with the loss for the Crosscutters.

Despite getting a no decision, Owen Dew returned to form pitching six three-hit innings of scoreless baseball.

The Scrappers will look for their second straight win against the Crosscutters tomorrow night. First pitch is slated for 5:05 p.m.
