
Blues Add AHL All-Star T.J. Hensick

St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has signed forward T.J. Hensick to a one-year contract extension.
Hensick, 24, played in seven games for Colorado last season, recording three points including a goal and two assists. In addition, he played in 58 games last season for Lake Erie of the AHL, scoring 20 goals and adding 50 assists for 70 points. He was named the "AHL Player of the Month" for December after 23 points (four goals, 19 assists) in 13 games. He was also named to the AHL All-Star Team for the second time in his career. In 2008-09 he played in 61 games for the Avalanche and recorded 21 points (4g, 17a).
The 5-10, 190-pound Howell, Michigan native was acquired by the Blues from Colorado in exchange for Julian Talbot on June 17, 2010 and was originally drafted by Colorado in the third round, 88th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
Prior to turning pro, Hensick spent four years at the University of Michigan where he posted 222 points (75 goals, 147 assists). His led the NCAA in points (69) and assists (46) and was named to the NCAA All-American Team for his senior year (2006-07).
