Sabres Agree to Terms with Tim Conboy

BUFFALO, NY (July 16, 2010) - Buffalo Sabres GM Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with unrestricted free agent winger Tim Conboy.

Conboy (3/22/1982, 6'2", 210 lbs.) appeared in 37 games with the Albany River Rats (AHL)last season, collecting three assists and 87 penalty minutes. Conboy also appeared in 12 games with the Carolina Hurricanes last season, collecting 34 penalty minutes. Overall, the Farmington, Minnesota native appeared in 59 career NHL games with the Carolina Hurricanes, picking up six assists and 121 penalty minutes. In 342 career AHL games, Conboy has collected 58 points (16+42) and 826 penalty minutes.

Conboy was originally selected by the San Jose Sharks in the seventh round (217th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. The Hurricanes had signed Conboy as a free agent in July 2006.
