Colorado Eagles News Release
LOVELAND, Colo. - Throughout the month of June, Colorado sports fans voted in Mile High Sports' "All-Stars 2010" poll encompassing the best-of-the-best in the categories of sports, media, restaurants and services. The results are in (they can be found in the recently-published July edition of Mile High Sports Magazine), and the Eagles were voted the best ticket value while the Budweiser Events Center was voted the best pro sports venue.
For "bang-for-your-buck," a ticket to an Eagles game was voted a better value than one to Air Force football, DU hockey, a Rapids "terrace" seat or a "rockpile" ticket for a Rockies game. Mile High Sports Magazine summarized the results this way: "Championship-level hockey and family friendly entertainment at a price point that doesn't require a second mortgage - what's not to like about the deals being offered in Loveland?"
The BEC beat out the likes of Coors Field, Pepsi Center, Invesco Field at Mile High and Dick's Sporting Goods Park, thanks in large part to the atmosphere created by a fan base that's been voted the Central Hockey League's best five times in seven seasons and owns the minor pro hockey record for consecutive sellouts. The magazine had this to say about the winning venue: "The building is always packed, the home team wins at a staggering rate and the arena has a small, intimate feeling, making this arena in Loveland one of the state's hidden gems."
The Eagles were also nominated in three other categories ("Favorite Local Pro Team," "Best Local Cheerleader Squad" and "Best Uniforms"), but did not win. Thank you to all who voted!
