Anaheim Ducks Select Six Players on Day Two of 2010 NHL Entry Draft

Syracuse, NY (June 26, 2010) - The Syracuse Crunch announced that the Anaheim Ducks selected six players on the second day of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Among its six picks, Anaheim selected right wing Devante Smith-Pelly (second round, 42nd overall), right wing Chris Wagner (fifth round, 122nd overall - pick acquired from Toronto earlier in the day in exchange for right wing Mike Brown), defenseman Tim Heed (fifth round, 132nd overall), center Andreas Dahlstrom (fifth round, 161st overall), defenseman Kevin Lind (sixth round, 177th overall) and right wing Brett Perlini (seventh round, 192nd overall).

Smith-Pelly, 18, scored 62 points(29g, 33a) with a plus-27 rating and 35 penalty minutes in 60 games with Mississauga (OHL) in 2009-10. Smith-Pelly finished the season tied for the team lead in scoring while ranking second in goals and power play goals (10), and third in assists and plus/minus. The 6-0, 211-pound right wing also collected 14 points (8g, 6a) in 16 OHL playoff games, ranking first on his club in goals and tied for first in scoring. A native of Scarborough, Ontario, Smith-Pelly made his OHL debut with Mississauga in 2008-09, recording 25 points (13g, 12a) with 24 penalty minutes in 57 games.

Wagner, 19, collected 83 points (34g, 49a) with 70 penalty minutes in 44 games with the South Shore Kings of the Eastern Junior Hockey League (EJHL) last season. Wagner was named the EJHL's Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year after captaining his team to the Southern Division championship, matching the league's single-season scoring record and leading the league in goals and assists. The 6-0, 200-pound right wing made his debut with South Shore in 2008-09, earning 34 points (20g, 14a) with 72 penalty minutes in 38 games.

Heed, 19, recorded 37 points (8g, 29a) with 20 penalty minutes in 32 games with Sodertalje's Swedish junior team last season. Heed also appeared in 27 games for Sodertalje's club in the Swedish Elite League (SEL) in 2009-10, scoring 10 points (1g, 9a) with two penalty minutes. The 5-11, 165-pound defenseman spent his first season with Sodertalje's junior club in 2008-09, picking up 8 points (1g, 7a) with 10 penalty minutes in 32 games. As a member of Sweden's U-19 national team, Heed earned 8 points (3g, 5a) in six games.

Dahlstrom, 19, appeared in six games with Stockholm AIK of the Swedish Elite League in 2009-10, registering 3 points (1g, 2a) with four penalty minutes. The 5-11, 176-pound center also played five games for Stockholm's AIK junior team last season, earning 10 points (4g, 6a) with 12 penalty minutes. Dahlstrom also played for Stockholm AIK Jr. in 2008-09, posting 10 points (5g, 5a) with 67 penalty minutes in 28 games.

Lind, 18, collected 16 points (6g, 10a) with 76 penalty minutes in 55 games with the Chicago Steel of the United States Hockey League (USHL) last season. Lind finished the year ranked second among team defensemen in scoring and goals, tied for second in assists, first in plus/minus (plus-3) and tied for first in appearances. The 6-3, 202-pound defenseman made his USHL debut in 2008-09, recording 5 points (2g, 3a) with 45 penalty minutes in 50 games with Chicago.

Perlini, 20, scored 12 points (7g, 5a) with 10 penalty minutes in 20 games with Michigan State (CCHA) in 2009-10. Following the season, Perlini was voted the Spartan's Most Improved Player during the team's awards ceremony in March. The 6-2, 200-pound right wing made his Michigan State debut in 2008-09, earning 3 points (2g, 1a) in 26 contests.
