SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. - Ty Wright turned the tables on a 2-for-16 performance this week vs. Mobile and delivered a game-winning RBI single for the Tennessee Smokies in a 6-5 win over the BayBears Saturday night at Smokies Park. The 10-inning win, in front of 4,013 fans, puts the Smokies at 20-10 on the year.

Tennessee's execution in the 10th was almost picture-perfect. Nate Samson led off the frame with a single to left. After Tony Campana delivered a sacrifice bunt to move Samson to second, Bryan Henry (2-2) intentionally walked Marwin Gonzalez. Wright then delivered a line drive single to right-center to bring home Samson, and give both the Smokies and reliever Ryan Buchter (1-0) the win.

The Smokies found themselves down again early Saturday night. Ed Easley's single in the first off Smokies starter Austin Bibens-Dirkx brought home teammate Colin Cowgill, making it 1-0 Mobile.

The Smokies answered in the bottom of the second. Tony Thomas' fly to center with the bases loaded was just deep enough to score Robinson Chirinos from third. Chirinos' slide around Easley's diving attempt at the tag tied the game at one.

Newcomer Marwin Gonzalez, starting only his second game in Double-A, drilled his first home run for the Smokies off Mobile starter Barry Enright in the third to put Tennessee up 2-1.

Russ Canzler added to Tennessee's lead in the sixth, blasting a two-run home run off Enright to give the Smokies a 4-1 lead. While he reached base four times on the night, the third basemen's glove was just as key as he ended multiple Mobile threats with two exceptional plays at the hot corner.

Fresh off his best start of the year, Bibens-Dirkx turned in a much needed quality start for Tennessee. The right-hander struck out seven batters over six innings, allowing only the one run on four hits.

The Smokies welcome the Carolina Mudcats to Smokies Park Monday for a five-game series. Mike Parisi (0-0, 0.00) will make his first start for Tennessee against Matt Klinker (2-3, 2.39) for Carolina. Tickets can be purchased online at www.smokiesbaseball.com or by calling (865) 286-2300.
