DES MOINES, IA, April 23, 2010 - The Iowa Energy have announced they will conduct a national search to find the replacement for head coach Nick Nurse, who has taken a position with the Iowa State University men's basketball team.
"We appreciate what Nick has done for our franchise. The record and the division championships speak for themselves. We wish Nick nothing but the best and we look forward to following his career," said Energy Managing Owner Jerry Crawford.
No timetable has been set for a replacement to be named.
"I'm sure there will be a number of extremely talented and qualified coaches who are interested," said Crawford. "We really feel this is the best job in the D-League."
Nurse, the first and only head coach in Energy history, compiled a 90-67 record in his three years at the helm. During that time, the Energy captured the 2008-2009 Central Division title and the 2009-2010 Eastern Conference title.
