Austin, TX April 6, 2010- The Austin Toros today announced they have acquired forwards Cory Underwood and Emmanuel Jones. Underwood, 6-10, 235 pounds appeared in 42 games this season with four different teams in the NBA D-League. Most recently he played for the Dakota Wizards, where he averaged 8.7 points and 4.3 rebounds in 19.3 minutes per game.
Jones, 6-6, 200 pounds appeared in 26 games for the Idaho Stampede this season. During that time he averaged 5.5 points and 3.5 rebounds during 16.2 minutes per game.
The two will replace Dwayne Jones, who received a GATORADE Call-up Monday by the Phoenix Suns, and Eric Dawson, who was waived due to an injury.
The Toros will travel to Bismarck, North Dakota on Thursday to face the Dakota Wizards in their first game of the 2010 NBA D-League Playoffs. The best-of-three series continues on Saturday, April 10th at the Austin Convention Center for game two, and if necessary game three on Sunday.
