
Havoc To Face Ice Bears In Semifinals

Huntsville Havoc News Release
HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc took the opening series 2-1 over the Pensacola Ice Bears and advance to the semifinals where they will take on the defending champion, Knoxville Ice Bears.
Game one of the best-of-three series will be in Huntsville on Wednesday night. Game two is in Knoxville on Friday night and game three, if needed, will be back in Huntsville on Saturday night.
The two teams met 12 times during the regular season with the Havoc winning seven of them. The Ice Bears knocked the Havoc out of the playoffs last season by winning game five of the best-of-five series in Knoxville.
Wednesday, March 31 - GAME ONE - Pensacola 3, Huntsville 1
HUNTSVILLE, AL - Matt Whitehead scored two goals and Ryan Scott made 30 saves as the Pensacola Ice Flyers took game one over the Huntsville Havoc 3-1 Wednesday night.
Justin Rohr scored the only Havoc goal on a two-man advantage in the second period. Rob Campbell added a goal for the Ice Flyers.
Dan McWhinney made 24 saves in the loss.
Friday, April 2 - GAME TWO - Huntsville 5, Pensacola 1
PENSACOLA, FL - Andrew Schembri scored two goals and Dan McWhinney made 36 saves as the Huntsville Havoc avoided elimination by picking up a 5-1 win on the road in Pensacola.
Brett Liscomb, Mike MacDonald and Ray Ortiz all scored goal for Huntsville while Mark Hinz scored the only goal for the Ice Flyers.
Ryan Scott made 39 saves in the loss as the Havoc outshot the Ice Flyers 44-37.
Sunday, April 4 - GAME THREE - Pensacola 4, Huntsville 5, OT
HUNTSVILLE, AL - Brett Liscomb scored with 9:46 left in the first overtime lifting the Huntsville Havoc to a 5-4 win over the Pensacola Ice Flyers and into the second round of the SPHL Playoffs.
Liscomb finished the night with three goals while he linemate Travis Kauffeldt had one. The other member of the line, Justin Rohr, finished the night with four assists. In all, the top Havoc line produced 10 points. Jeff Winchester scored the other Havoc goal on the powerplay.
Kevin Galan, Matt Whitehead, Erik Stoyanovich and Jason Hill scored for the Ice FLyers.
Dan McWhinney made 17 saves in the win while Ryan Scott made 35 in the loss. The Havoc outshot the Ice Flyers 40-21.
