Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa-Waterloo Black Hawks Senior Account Executive Katie Kenne has accepted a front office position with the Dubuque Fighting Saints, one of two USHL expansion franchises preparing to take ice in 2010-2011, the Black Hawks announced Wednesday.
"Katie's diverse skills have made a big impact on our organization during her three years with the team," said Waterloo Black Hawks President Doug Miller. "She has regularly accepted new challenges, and we will miss her enthusiasm. By adding Katie, I expect the Fighting Saints will hit the ground running next fall."
Since the beginning of 2007-2008, Kenne has served as a Black Hawks Account Executive, managing corporate partnerships and organizing groups to attend games at Young Arena. Last summer she was promoted to Senior Account Executive. Beyond her primary duties, Kenne has also been responsible for a variety of graphic design projects, including the team's 2009-2010 yearbook, and managing the Black Hawks Box Office on game nights.
Prior to working for the Black Hawks, Kenne was an Account Executive for the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier. A 2005 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, she majored in Public Relations. Before finishing her studies at UNI, Kenne worked as an intern for the Black Hawks during the 2005-2006 season.
