Moncton Wildcats News Release
Reading Is Wild Goes Over Half-A-Million
The excitement was as high as a playoff victory when the Reading is Wild program went over the half million books read last week. Sponsored by the Wildcats, RBC and the Times&Transcript, now in its 12th season, Reading is Wild continues to promote reading in the area's schools. Last week, the students at Forest Glen, Beaverbrook, Dorchester and West Riverview read 9770 books to send the all time total soaring to 504,196 and there are still three weeks remaining in this year's program. You can follow the progress of Reading is Wild every day by checking the reading temperature chart in the Times & Transcript.
Military Appreciation Night Friday:
For the fifth consecutive season, the Wildcats will thank and honor Canada's Military this Friday with the annual Military Appreciation night.
The Shawinigan Cataractes will be the opposition for the 7 o'clock game sponsored by Coast Tire. A large military equipment display will be set up in front of the Coliseum prior to the game. The military mascot Juno will join our Wild Willie in welcoming the fans. In addition, the 8CH Pipes and Drum Band will bring their special musical entertainment to game. A Color Guard of active members of the Military will form the honor guard at the ceremonial puck drop.
With the support of the CN Community Ticket program, the Wildcats will provide tickets for the Military. Fans are asked to wear Red as a way of showing support for the women and men of Canada's Armed Forces. Tickets for the game are available at the Coliseum Box Office or by calling 506-857-4100.
* Along with the Military, the Oromocto PeeWee Eagles will be special guests at Friday's games. The Eagles won the national Old Dutch Foods national contest which included a full practice session with the Wildcats on January 31st and tickets to see their favorite CHL team in action.
