Storm Acquire Top Goal Scorer In Midget Hockey

KEARNEY, Neb. - Tri-City Storm Head Coach/General Manager Drew Schoneck has announced Sunday morning that the Storm has acquired from the Waterloo Black Hawks forward Mario Puskarich for Tri-City defenseman Andrew Panzarella.

Puskarich, who is finishing the season with the midget-major program - Chicago Young Americans, leads the nation with 42 goals in 48 games this season. He has a total of 65 points with CYA and is expected to play with the Storm in the next few weeks.

The native of Cape Coral, Florida, played three games in the USHL in December for the Black Hawks and posted one goal and three assists in his debut game against Sioux Falls. Puskarich, a 17-year old, is 6-foot-1 and weighs 175-pounds and was expected to be one of the top players selected in the upcoming USHL Entry Draft.

Panzarella, a three-year USHL veteran, will leave the Storm to join the Black Hawks this week. He played 36 games this season for the Storm and posted two goals and three assists. Panzarella, a soon-to-be 20-year old, has 451 career penalty minutes in the USHL.

The Storm will be home on Friday night against the Lincoln Stars for the annual Pack-It-In-Purple night at the Viaero Event Center.
