
Altoona Curve Announces Spring Training Festival Activities

ALTOONA, Pa - The Altoona Curve have detailed the list of activities that will highlight their inaugural Spring Training Festival at Logan Valley Mall from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 6.
The first part of a two-pronged event, whose proceeds will benefit the Altoona Regional Health System Foundation for Life, the Festival will be held on the second floor of the Logan Valley Mall. In addition to having the opportunity to meet and get an autograph and picture with former Pirates legend and Cy Young Award Winner Doug Drabek, former Curve star Josh Bonifay and future Altoona standouts Rudy Owens and Chase d'Arnaud all attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of different carnival-like games and activities that are fun for all ages.
Those seeking full access to the event can purchase their tickets in advance for just $10 or for $12 on the day of the event. The full access ticket will provide the ticketholder a chance to obtain autographs and play all carnival games. However, those that do not wish to purchase a ticket or obtain an autograph can play games at the mall for just $1 per game.

- Arts and Crafts
- Balloon Burst Race: See who can pump up a balloon with air the fastest until it pops!
- Bean Bag Toss
- Chuck-a-Luck Wheel: Every spin is a winner!
- Inflataball
- Bounce House
- Claire's Clearance Sale: The Curve's Merchandise Director, Claire Martin is clearing out all 2009 merchandise and past promotional items. Fans can take advantage of great savings and pick up that apparel or promo item they've been meaning to get!
- Face Painting
- Caricatures by Cory Geishauser: Get a cartoon mock-up drawn right on the spot!
- Ring-the-Bell: One of the oldest, classic carnival games - swing the sledge hammer and try to ring the bell at the top of the pole!
- Magnetic Darts
Popcorn and Snow Cones will also be served for a $1 donation.
Additionally, fans will have the their first chance to get and up close look at the new and improved design of the Curve's official mascot, Steamer, who was unveiled at a press conference at Blair County Ballpark on Wednesday afternoon. Other team mascots Diesel Dawg and Al Tuna will also be on hand.
