UNCASVILLE, Conn. (February 3, 2010) - Jonathan Law of Milford has been selected as the Connecticut Sun High School Girls' Basketball Team of the Week, presented by Camaro Signs of Yantic, for the week of January 25-31st.
Jonathan Law ran its winning streak to seven with victories over No. 2 Hillhouse last Tuesday and Sacred Heart Academy last Friday. Casey Dulin scored 17 points for the visiting Eagles in a 54-49 upset of Hillhouse, which had won nine straight and was undefeated at home. Jonathan Law beat Sacred Heart Academy 44-40 to close out the week.
This is the fourth season the Connecticut Sun has recognized a Team of the Week. Each winner will receive a commemorative plaque and a congratulatory letter from Connecticut Sun coach Mike Thibault.
The Team of the Week is part of a series of initiatives undertaken by the Connecticut Sun to highlight local high school girls' basketball, where future WNBA stars are already competing. The Sun have also hosted the CIAC Championship luncheon and the four state title games, and the team will recognize the four champions during a ceremony at halftime of a regular season game during the 2010 season.
