Akron RubberDucks News Release

AKRON, OH - The Akron Aeros would like to thank their loyal Aeros Following for a great week so far raising money for the people of Haiti. The Aeros, with the help of their loyal fans, have raised over $500 for the people of Haiti. There is still time to get involved, as 25% of all mini-plans purchased now through Sunday will be donated to the Haiti Relief Fund. If you are planning on purchasing a Mini-Pack for the 2010 season this week would be the week to do it because part of the sale helps the struggling people of Haiti.

"We want to thank the greater Akron area and all Aeros fans for the support they have shown for the people of Haiti. We feel our efforts will play a small part in the recovery and rebuilding of that ravaged country," said General Manager Jeff Auman.

UNICEF has been designated by Major and Minor League Baseball as their preferred fund for concerned teams and fans to channel their donations. The Aeros strongly encourage everyone who is able to make additional donations by visiting unicef.org.

Major League Baseball recently donated over $1 million to UNICEF for aid to Haiti. A $10 donation can also be made via text message by sending the word UNICEF to 20222.

The Aeros begin their defense of their 2009 Eastern League Championship on Thursday, April 8th against the Binghamton Mets in Binghamton, NY. For more information on tickets or all the other festivities planned at Canal Park in 2010, please visit the Aeros online at www.akronaeros.com or call (330) 253-5151.
