Arizona Sundogs News Release

The Arizona Sundogs (13-24-3) sit 11 points back of the Amarillo Gorillas and the Southern Conference's fifth and final playoff spot after dropping three straight games against the Odessa Jackalopes last week at Tim's Toyota Center. Arizona is currently riding a season-long six-game losing streak and battles the league-leading Jackalopes Friday and Saturday night in Odessa before closing out a three-in-three set with a Sunday afternoon contest against the Gorillas in Amarillo.

Sundogs Storylines:

- Recently-acquired forward Marc Belanger has found his scoring touch since joining the Sundogs, tallying eight points (2g/6a) in six games with his new club. The second-year pro has been held without a point just once since joining Arizona and is currently riding a four-game point streak.

- Veteran forward Chad Hinz tallied his 10th goal of the season in his first game with Arizona in a 3-1 loss to the Jackalopes on Friday, Jan. 22. Hinz was acquired in a trade with the expansion Missouri Mavericks in exchange for future considerations.

- Konrad Reeder leads the team with 18 goals and 36 points after netting a pair of tallies in a 5-4 loss to the Jackalopes Saturday night. The goals were his first points since a two-point (1g/1a) effort in a 6-4 loss to the Texas Brahmas on January 16.

- Veteran defenseman and player/assistant coach Chris Bartolone had a seven-game point streak snapped in a 5-4 loss to the Jackalopes Saturday night. The 40-year-old blue liner collected three goals and eight assists in that span. Bartolone ranks third in the CHL among defensemen in scoring with 32 points (7g/25a).

- CHL All-Star defenseman Jon Landry leads the team with a plus-8 rating and ranks fourth among CHL blue liners with 31 points (9g/22a).

- Second-year pro Kyle Hood has set career highs in goals (9) and points (28) and has matched a career high in assists (19) in just 39 games this season. His previous marks were set in a 64-game span last season.

- Arizona's penalty kill ranks fifth-best in the CHL at 84.82%, killing off 218 of 257 shorthanded chances.

- Head Coach and General Manager Marco Pietroniro waived forward Kim Karsberg on January 22. Karsberg recorded one goal, three assists, a minus-10 rating and 23 penalty minutes in 22 games with Arizona.
