Dubuque USHL Hockey Team to Unveil Name

Chicago, IL - The new United States Hockey League team recently awarded to Dubuque, Iowa will unveil its official team name, colors and logos on center stage at the Dubuque Sports & Recreation Festival at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 23rd at the Grand River Center.

Participating in the event will be players from the Dubuque Youth Hockey Association, Brad Kwong, Managing Director for Northern Lights Hockey, LLC the owners of the team and Dubuque Fighting Saints legend Gary Suter. After two outstanding seasons with the Dubuque team that originally competed in the USHL for 21 seasons (1980 - 2001), Suter went on to star at the University of Wisconsin and was then drafted by the Calgary Flames in 1984. While with the Flames, Suter was the NHL's Rookie of the Year in 1986 and won the Stanley Cup in 1989. Suter enjoyed a 17-year NHL career which included time with the Chicago Blackhawks and San Jose Sharks. Suter was also a member of the 1998 and 2002 United States Olympic Hockey Team. Following the unveiling ceremony, Suter will be on hand at the team's booth at the Sports & Recreation Festival to sign autographs.

During the course of the day, fans will have an opportunity to stop by the team's booth at the Festival to learn more about the team, the USHL, and the new 3,200-seat Mystique Ice Center which is currently under construction on Chaplain Schmidt Island. In addition, fans will have a chance to participate in drawings to win t-shirts and hats featuring the team's new name and logo. There will also be a drawing to win two free season tickets for the team's Inaugural Season in 2010-11. Fans will also have the opportunity to sign up for a priority list that will entitle them to an opportunity to place a deposit on the best available seating locations once the team begins accepting season ticket deposits which is expected to begin sometime in the next few weeks.
