January 21, 2010 - Eastern League (EL1)
Akron RubberDucks News Release

The Akron Aeros announced today that they are doing their part to help aid the people of Haiti. The Aeros have decided that 25% of all Mini-Plan sales during the week of January 25 to January 31 will be donated to the Haiti Relief Fund.

After hearing word of last week's devastation in Haiti, Aeros General Manager Jeff Auman said, "We felt like we needed to find some way to assist the struggling people of Haiti. We hope that the money raised next week will help aid relief efforts."

UNICEF has been designated by Major and Minor League Baseball as their preferred fund for concerned teams and fans to channel their donations. The Aeros strongly encourage everyone who is able to make additional donations by visiting unicef.org.

Major League Baseball recently donated over $1 million to UNICEF for aid to Haiti. A $10 donation can also be made via text message by sending the word UNICEF to 20222.

The Aeros begin their defense of their 2009 Eastern League Championship on Thursday, April 8th against the Binghamton Mets in Binghamton, NY. For more information on tickets or all the other festivities planned at Canal Park in 2010, please visit the Aeros online at www.akronaeros.com or call (330) 253-5151.
