Coach Richards commented that "Signing all conference players is always great, but to sign All-Americans is very difficult. There are only so many of those guys out there." He went on to say "These guys will really help out our team in the 2010 season."
Derek Deardorff (6'4" 214lb.) is a receiver out of Malone College. Malone was selected to the NAIA All-American team for the 2008 college football season. Deardorff ended the regular season as the NAIA's leading receiver, averaging 115.5 yards per game and 16.7 yards per reception. He established new Pioneers single-season records with 69 receptions for 1,155 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Jacob Calderon (6'0 235lb) is a defensive lineman from Cal Lutheran. Calderon earned SCIAC Defensive Player of the Year, All-West Region Second Team All-American honors to cap off his senior season at Cal Lutheran. Calderon became the fourth Kingsmen to earn an All-America since Cal Lutheran became an NCAA institution in 1991 and the 18th in the program's 47 year history. Calderon led NCAA Division III in sacks during the regular season with 12, while leading the team in tackles for loss with 18, and total tackles with 67.
Jacob Killeen (6'3" 240lbs.) is a defensive lineman out of Charleston Southern from the Big South Conference. In his 2008 season, he was named to the All-big South Conference First Team for the 2008 college football season. It was his second time being selected as all-conference after joining the CSU program. He finished the year second in the Big South in sacks, and seventh in total tackles among defensive linemen in the league. In just two years, he ranks eight all time at CSU with 17 career tackles for loss and is second in career sacks with 11. In 2007 at CSU he earned all-conference honors in his first season. He played in 10 games and earned two starts, had 37 total tackles finishing the season strong. He tied for second on the team with 6.5 tackles-for-loss and had a team-high 4.5 sacks for 21 yards and also had a team-high three quarterback hurries.
