Corporate Sponsorship Sends 500 Youth To "Kids Night Out" At Buccaneer Arena

This Saturday night, 500 kids will attend the Des Moines Buccaneers hockey game thanks to local businesses and corporate sponsorships. The first ever "Kid's Night Out" will benefit local area children's charities, and make it possible for less fortunate kids to enjoy an exciting night of hockey as the Bucs host the Waterloo Black Hawks.
The Buccaneers teamed with local businesses to purchase tickets and snacks for the kids during the game. Every ticket purchased by a business was matched by the Buccaneers organization, and the targeted goal of 500 was reached.
The Buccaneers want to thank the following Companies and individuals for making this event possible: Johnson Controls, Texas Roadhouse, C & S Tree Care, The IMT Group, Grinnell Mutual, Prairie Meadows, Marty Badeloo & Solutions Kept Simple, Midwest Construction, Old Dutch Foods, Remax, Commonwealth Electric Company, Doug Bryant, Des Moines Orthopedic Surgeons, Graffiti Graffics, Kelli Saucerman, Dr Thomas Lenz, The Nature Conservancy, Irwin's Bike and Sports and the Iowa Rural Water Association.
Groups that we will be welcoming to the game include: Orchard Place, Mentor Iowa, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa, Children & Families of Iowa, Child Serve, Harmony through Hockey, Urban Dreams and The Heart Connection Children's Cancer Programs.
In addition that evening the Des Moines Buccaneers will be auctioning the jerseys off their backs to benefit "The Heart Connection Children's Cancer Programs." Every player will be wearing a special jersey that will be sold during a live on-ice auction after the game. Last season the Bucs raised over $18,000 to benefit children with cancer.
