Altoona Curve News Release
ALTOONA, Pa - The Altoona Curve are pleased to announce that today's auditions that afforded over 100 hopefuls the opportunity to sing the National Anthem before a 2010 Altoona Curve game was a huge success. Contestants were judged by a panel of celebrity judges from a variety of media outlets, whose scores will be tabulated in the coming weeks and a total of 71 winners will be contacted by a representative from the Altoona Curve front office.
Held at Logan Valley Mall, participants traveled through less than ideal weather conditions after an overnight snowfall from as far as Cumberland, Maryland, West Newton, Kittanning, and Clearfield, PA to give it their all. A variety of different renditions of the anthem were done, as soloists, duets, quartets and even full ensembles cracked the mic.
Fans and all passerby were able to visit the Altoona Curve merchandise store and pick up ticket information and 2010 poster schedules along with pocket schedules free of charge. This information is still available at the Curve merchandise center located inside the mall and will be through December 31.
The Curve are also pleased to announce that all shoppers for the remainder of the week will receive a 20% discount on all men's apparel. The following week (December 11-17) women's and youth clothing will be discounted 20% while all hats and t-shirts will feature the same savings during the week of December 18-24.
