
Storm Lose In Shootout To Sioux City, 5-4

KEARNEY, NE - The Tri-City Storm (7-7-3, 17 pts) blew a 4-2 third period lead to the Sioux City Musketeers (8-8-1, 17 pts) to lose in a shootout, 5-4. Despite multi-point games from the Storm's Jaden Schwartz, Radoslav Illo , Josh Berge, and Maxwell Tardy, the Storm is winless in eight straight games.
The Musketeers' Stephan Vigier scored the opening goal of the game at the 1:14 mark into the first period. Sioux City led after the first period 1-0 over the Storm. Tri-City scored two power play goals in the second period, as Berge scored his second of the season and Illo netted his 11th of the season to put the Storm on top 2-1 at the second intermission. Tardy picked up an assist on each goal in the second period.
Vigier scored less than two minutes into the third period to tie the game at 2-2. TJ Schlueter scored his first goal in his USHL career at the 4:31 mark in the third period to put the Storm back in front.
Schwartz scored his ninth of the season 48-seconds after Schlueter's goal to give Tri-City a 4-2 lead over the Musketeers with 14:41 to go in regulation. Sioux City's Dan Ford scored on deflection from Andrew Sinelli to get the Musketeers back to within one goal.
Ryan Rashid would score the tying goal with 26-seconds left in the game, as Sioux City pulled goalie Matt Skoff to add the extra-attacker.
Sioux City scored twice in the shootout, as Skoff shut the door on all four Storm shooters.
Carsen Chubak (6-6-3) made 30 saves on 34 shots in the shootout loss for the Storm.
Skoff (3-5-1) made 25 saves on 29 shots in the win for Sioux City.
The Storm on the power play was 2-8, while Sioux City was 1-8 with the man-advantage.
Tri-City will travel back on the road to play the Fargo Force on Friday and Saturday in a back-to-back series after Thanksgiving. The Storm return home on December 5th to battle Team USA - U18 squad at 3:05 PM.
