Press Release - November 23, 2009 THUNDER TO SUPPORT CHILDREN'S HOME SOCIETY OF NJ
(Trenton, NJ) - The Trenton Thunder, the Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, have announced that the fifth annual "Gift of Baseball" program is now underway. The "Gift of Baseball" initiative is a way fans can share the experience of attending a professional baseball game with underprivileged families this holiday season.
For each Thunder season ticket, half season ticket, Mini Plan or Pic-A-Plan purchased between now and December 21, the Thunder will supply one underprivileged family with tickets to a game during the 2010 season. Each of the families receiving tickets will be part of the Holiday Gift Outreach program run by Children's Home Society of New Jersey. This is the fifth consecutive year that the Thunder have teamed with the Children's Home Society of New Jersey for this program.
Over the last four years, fans helped the Thunder donate 2,688 tickets to the families involved with this program.
"We want all the families from in and around Trenton to be able to enjoy the Thunder baseball. This program is great because it gives that opportunity to some families who might not ordinarily be able to do so," said Thunder General Manager Will Smith. "Our hope is that we will be able to provide even more families with a night at the ballpark in their stockings this year."
The Children's Home Society of New Jersey provides at-risk children and their families with a range of services that empower them to achieve their potential. They are child-oriented, family focused, community based, and outcome-oriented.
Full and Half season tickets, Pic-A-Plans, Mini Plans and group outings in both stadium seats and hospitality areas are on sale now by calling 609-394-3300 or online at trentonthunder.com.
Single game tickets will go on sale to the general public on February 1, 2010.
