Brickley's Hat Trick Lifts Bucs Over Fargo, 6-4

DES MOINES, IA - The Buccaneers battled the Fargo Force on Thursday night.

Connor Brickley put the Bucs on the board in the first period with a goal at 9:01. The goal, assisted by Connor Frick and T.J. Tynan, was the lone goal of the period. The Bucs headed into the first intermission leading 1-0.

Off of the first faceoff in the second, HT Lenz would come up with the second Buccaneers goal of the game. Frick and Brickley would be given the assists on Lenz's goal. The goal would also mark the sixth straight game that Lenz has tallied a point. The Buccaneers held onto their 2-0 lead until the 14:39 mark of the game when Fargo's Nate Condon would put a shorthanded goal pass goalie Eric Mihalik. Less than two minutes later, Fargo's Corey Leivermann tied the game 2-2. But the Buccaneers were able to come out on top in the period with a goal from Yasin Cisse at 17:36. The goal would be assisted by Brickley and Tynan and sent the Buccaneers into the second intermission with a 3-2 lead.

Austin Coldwell, assisted by Mike Fink and Yasin Cisse, took advantage of a powerplay and put the Buccaneers up 4-2 in the beginning of the third period. Fargo tied the game with two goals from with goals from Garrett Allen and Matt Leitner. With just fifteen seconds left in the game, Buccaneer Brickley scored the game winning goal with an assist from T.J. Tynan. He would follow that goal with his third goal of the evening leading to his first USHL hat trick. The goal would also treat the crowd of over 1900 to free Krispy Kreme doughnuts, as the Buccaneers scored six goals for the first time this season.

Goalie Eric Mihalik would stop 31 of 35 shots on goal. The Buccaneers would have 29 shots on goal and go 1 for 5 on the powerplay. Buccaneer's Brickley, Tynan and Cisse were named the stars of the game.

The Buccaneers are on the road this weekend; taking on the Omaha Lancers on Friday night and the Waterloo Black Hawks on Saturday night. They will return home and play on Thanksgiving Night against the Omaha Lancers. It's Miller Lite Buc Beer Night presented by LAZER 103.3 - draws of Miller Lite will be $1 all night long. The following Saturday the Buccaneers will welcome Team USA to their first USHL game at Buccaneer Arena. Take part in the silent auction benefiting the Gabe Fleming Memorial Hockey Scholarship.
