UNCASVILLE, Conn. 17, 2009) The Connecticut Sun teamed up with Design Squad, the PBS Kids show, to film an episode in which two groups of aspiring engineers designed a T-shirt shooter for use at a game. The episode is now available for viewing online at http://pbskids.org/designsquad/season3/index.html.The challenge, posed to the two groups by former Sun player Tamika Raymond and Sun point guard Lindsay Whalen, was to design and build a way to safely distribute T-shirts to fans in the upper deck of Mohegan Sun Arena at a game. Both groups presented their designs to Raymond, Whalen and show host Nate Ball prior to a Sun game against the Chicago Sky on Sunday, July 20, 2008. The winning team was be revealed live during the game.
The episode is part of Season 3 of Design Squad, which is now available for viewing on public television stations across the country. The show is aired locally on Connecticut Public Television.
