Amerks Tame Bulldogs To Tie Franchise Record

(Rochester, NY)... *The Rochester Americans defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 4-1 tonight at The Blue Cross Arena to tie a franchise record of 11 straight victories. The win also improves the Amerks to an AHL best record of 12-1-1-0 on the season (25 points).

Leading the way for the Amerks was Jordan Henry who tallied three points (1+2) to earn first star honors. Also having a multi-point night was Graham Mink who posted a goal and an assist to take the second star. In goal for Rochester was Alexander Salak who tied his season high in saves as he turned away 38 shots and was awarded the third star. Henry found the only goal in the first period as he got the puck to trickle over the glove of Bulldogs goalie Cedrick Desjardins. Henry's first goal of the season came at the 17:38 mark and came on an individual effort.

The Amerks extended their lead to two on the power-play when Jamie Johnson tipped the puck into the back of the net. The Amerks power-play goal was assisted by Mike York and Jason Garrison. Garrison's assist extends his point streak to four games (1+3).

Mink made it 3-0 as he found a nice crossing pass from rookie forward Evgeny Dadonov. Also providing an assist on the Amerks third goal was Henry at the 9:09 mark of the second period.

The Bulldogs got on the board at the 3:22 mark of the third when Mike Glumac netted his first goal of the season. Assisting on Glumac's power-play goal was David Desharnais and Ben Maxwell.

The Amerks took their three goal lead back when Chris Taylor tipped in a Henry shot from the point at the 8:40 mark of the third. Taylor's fourth goal of the season was assisted by Henry and Mink.

The Amerks return to action on Thursday, November 12th as they take on the Portland Pirates for the first time in 10 years since the 1999-00 season. The 7:00 p.m. contest will be played at HSBC Arena, home of the Buffalo Sabres and Portland's National Hockey League affiliate. The matchup will be the first of four meetings this season between the two teams and will be carried live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK and FM 107.3, Rochester's Sports Leader.
