Chris Rebernik Named Player Of The Week

The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) announced today that Chris Rebernik of the Pensacola Ice Flyers is the Sher-Wood SPHL Player of the Week for November 2-8.

Rebernik, who was acquired in a trade with Knoxville in the off-season, scored five goals and added an assist as the Ice Flyers went 2-1 for the weekend.

The Mississauga, Ontario native netted the first hat trick in Ice Flyers history on Thursday as he led Pensacola to a 4-2 win over Louisiana. Rebernik scored two of his three goals on the power play and also added an assist on Trevor Karasiewicz's empty net goal. On Friday, Rebernik continued his scoring binge as he netted two more goals (1 ppg) as Pensacola swept the home-and-home series with the IceGators 5-4 before being shut out in a 7-4 loss to Columbus on Saturday.

Rebernik, who is in his fourth SPHL season, had a career high 57 points with Jacksonville in 2007-2008.

Rebernik and the Ice Flyers are currently 4-2 and in second place in the SPHL standings. Pensacola's next game is on Thursday, November 12 at 7:05 p.m. against the Huntsville Havoc.
