Canadiens Assign Alex Henry To The Bulldogs

MONTREAL, QC - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that defenceman Alex Henry has been assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs from the Canadiens.

Henry, 30, has been out with an injury he suffered during a pre-season game with Montreal this year. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound defender played in 79 games with Hamilton in 2008-2009 accumulating 10 points (three goals, seven assists) and ranking second on the team in penalty minutes with 127. The native of Elliot Lake, Ontario also played in two games with the Canadiens last season, earning 10 penalty minutes. Henry was drafted in the 3rd round, 67th overall in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers and is a veteran of 177 NHL games recording 11 points (two goals, nine assists) and serving 269 penalty minutes.

The Bulldogs will battle the Binghamton Senators at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa today at 3:00 p.m. Fans can listen to every 'Dogs game on the flagship station of the Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Network, TALK 820.
