
Dubnyk Dynamite In Win Over Pirates

Portland, Maine - Devin Dubnyk turned aside 39 shots to lead the Springfield Flacons to a 2-1 win over the Portland Pirates in an American Hockey League game played this evening in front of 3,258 at the Cumberland County Civic Center.
Ryan O'Marra and Colin McDonald scored in the opening six minutes of the second period to erase a 1-0 deficit and carry the Falcons to victory. Springfield moved to 7-5-2-1 on the season with the victory, their second straight against Portland.
Philip Gogulla netted the lone Pirates' goal. Portland dropped to 5-9-0-0 on the campaign.
The Pirates led 1-0 after one. The Falcons reversed the lead to open the second, carried a 2-1 advantage into the third and hung on for the win.
The Pirates out shot the Falcons 40-21 in the game, including 19-2 in the third period, as J.P. Lamoureux started and took the loss.
The Allied Home Mortgage three stars of the game were 1. Dubnyk; 2. McDonald and 3. Gogulla.
The Pirates return to action Wednesday night in the first of three on the road when they travel to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to face-off against the Penguins in a 7:05 p.m. start. The game can be heard live on New Talk WLOB 95.5 FM and on-line at www.portlandpirates.com beginning with the pre-game show at 6:45 p.m. Thursday Portland will take on the Rochester Americans at HSBC Arena in Buffalo, NY. The trip will end Sunday afternoon in Bridgeport against the Sound Tigers.
The next Pirates home game takes place Tuesday, November 17th when the Norfolk Admirals visit the CCCC for a 7 p.m. start.
