The loss for the Storm was only the second in regulation this season. The Storm scored the first goal of the game at the 13:21 mark of the first period, as Tyler Pistone scored his second goal of the season. Blake Coleman and Kenny Brooks received the assists on shot by Pistone from the right circle beating Stampede goalie Lino Chimienti on his blocker-side. Former Storm, Matt Bailey scored an unassisted goal with 3:29 left in the second period to even the score at 1-1. The Stampede outshot the Storm 23-7 through two periods, but Storm goalie Carsen Chubak was brilliant making 22 saves on 23 shots. The Stampede scored 51-seconds into the third period to take the lead 2-1, as Jacob Johnstone scored the game-winning goal for Sioux Falls. Chubak (6-2-1) made 30 saves on 32 shots in the loss for the Storm. Chimienti (5-0-0) made 12 saves on 13 shots earning the win. The Storm on the power play was 0-4, while Sioux Falls was also 0-6 with the man-advantage. The Storm traveled to Urbandale, Iowa Friday night to prepare for a Saturday night game against the Des Moines Buccaneers. Tri-City will return home next Wednesday night to play the Omaha Lancers.
