Rockets defeat Bruins

November 7, 2009 - Western Hockey League (WHL) Kelowna Rockets

Rockets shutout Bruins

The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Chilliwack Bruins 3-0 Friday night in front of a sellout crowd of 6,119 fans at Prospera Place in Kelowna.

Adam Brown made 23 saves for the shutout while Brandon McMillan's first period goal stood up as the winner.

McMillan wired a slap shot into the top corner on a 5-on-3 power play to get the Rockets rolling. Kyle St. Denis added a power play marker in the second period before Mitchell Callahan scored an empty netter in the third period.

The win gives the Rockets a 10-7-1-0 record heading to Kamloops for a battle on Saturday night.

The Rockets next home game is a special Remembrance Day celebration on Wednesday Nov. 11 as the Rockets host Red Deer in a rare afternoon start at Prospera Place. Join the Rockets and honour our veterans as the Rockets and Red Deer drop the puck at 2 p.m. on Remembrance Day.
