(Trenton, NJ)- The Trenton Thunder Minor League Baseball teamhad a total of 23 former players suit up for their Major League affiliate at some point during
the New York Yankees World Series Championship season that concluded on Wednesday night. Thirteen of those alumni were on the Yankees active World Series roster.
"Seeing so many of our former stars celebrating on the field at Yankee Stadium last night was really special," said Thunder General Manager Will Smith. "We are so happy for all the players who brought Trenton two Eastern League championships and now have the thrill of celebrating the biggest championship of them all."

The Thunder have been affiliated with the Yankees since the 2003 season and won the Eastern League Championship in 2007 and 2008. The 2010 Thunder season will begin on April 8 as Trenton hosts the Erie SeaWolves (Detroit Tigers).
