Warning, along with teammate Michael Parks was also named to the United States Under-18 Select Team that competed at the 2009 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament from August 11-15 in Piestany, Slovakia.

The 2009 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka Tournament featured teams from Canada, the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland and the United States. In the tournament, after a loss to Russia and a win against Finland, The U.S. Under-18 Select Team played Slovakia on August 13th. After losing to Sweeden on the final day of the tournament, The U.S. Under-18 Select Team finished in fourth place.

Now in his first season with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, Warning has two goals and two assists in seven games. Sam will join the University of Minnesota in 2011 after a second season with The Riders.
