Thunder Announce "Choose Your Champ" World Series Contest

October 26, 2009 - Eastern League (EL) Trenton Thunder

(Trenton, NJ)- The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, have announced a "CHOOSE YOUR CHAMP" World Series Prediction Contest. Trenton is widely considered the dividing-line between New York and Philadelphia sports "fandom."

"We wanted to give our regional fan base the chance to celebrate this once-in-a-generation match-up," said Thunder General Manager, Will Smith. "This contest will reward one lucky fan with the opportunity to celebrate with the 2009 World Series Champions."

Fans of the Thunder can submit emails predicting the outcome of the 2009 World Series. The winner will receive an all-expenses paid trip for two people to go to either the Phillies or Yankees 2010 Regular Season Home Opener. Transportation to the game, two tickets to opening day, World Series merchandise and meals will be included in the package. Round-trip transportation will be provided from the home of the Trenton Thunder, Waterfront Park.

To be eligible, fans must email chooseyourchamp@trentonthunder.com and select the winner of the 2009 World Series, the amount of games necessary, and the MVP of the series. Predictions must be received before the first pitch of Wednesday's Game One. The person with the correct prediction will be notified shortly after the completion of the series. In the case of multiple correct submissions, the Thunder will choose, at random, the grand-prize winner. With your entry, please include your full name, home town, and phone number.

Full and Half season tickets are on sale now for Trenton's 2010 season by calling 609-394-3300 or online at trentonthunder.com. Single game tickets will go on sale to the general public on February 1, 2010. The schedule of fireworks and promotions will be released at a later date.
