Colorado Rapids News Release
SANDY, Utah - The Colorado Rapids will have to wait till tomorrow to learn if they have clinched a postseason berth following a 3-0 loss to Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto Stadium Saturday night.
With a chance to claim a playoff spot with a win, the Rapids now need New England to lose to Columbus on Sunday to earn a wildcard spot into the playoffs. A win or draw by New England keeps Colorado out of postseason play for a third straight year.
Real Salt Lake took control of the game behind two first half goals from Robbie Findley coming in the 15th and 33rd minutes to capture the Rocky Mountain Cup for a third consecutive year.
Yura Movsisyan sealed the win for the home side with his eighth goal of the season coming in the 85th minute.
