Aeros Fall to Stars 5-1

HOUSTON - The Houston Aeros (3-3-0-0) fell to intra-state rival Texas (4-1-0-1) 5-1 in front of 4,919 Saturday at Toyota Center. RW J-M Daoust notched the only goal for Houston while Aeros G Anton Khudobin was pulled after giving up four second period goals; Khudobin stopped 19 of 23 Texas shots to get saddled with his first loss of the year. G Wade Dubielewicz made three saves in 21:05 in relief of of Khudobin. RW Colton Sceviour and C Perttu Lindgren each scored a goal and an assist for Texas and G Brent Krahn tallied 21 saves to earn the win.

After a scoreless first session, the Stars dominated the second period behind goals from RW Tyler Shelast, Lindgren, D Garret Stafford and Sceviour. Texas out-shot the Aeros 15-5 in the period and scored all four goals at even strength.

Daoust finally got Houston on the board with his first goal of the season at 8:17 of the third period. LW Robbie Earl and D Ryan Lannon were credited with the assists. The Stars would add an ENG at 15:15 off the stick of RW Sergei Korostin.

The Stars remain atop the "Lone Star Faceoff" standings registering their seventh point in the win. The Aeros remain in second with four points followed by San Antonio with three. The Aeros welcome the Lake Erie Monsters to Toyota Center Wednesday night to complete a five-game home stand. Game time is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. and can be heard on 1070 AM KNTH and ahllive.com.
