The roster consists of two goalies, eight defensemen and 15 forwards. Including both goaltenders, 16 of the players on the roster are under contract with the Dallas Stars. The Texas roster features 13 players who were NHL draft picks, including three first-round selections (Krahn, Vishnevskiy, Wilson).

The Stars begin their Inaugural season on Friday, October 2nd at the AT&T Center in San Antonio against the Rampage at 7:00 pm. Texas will host its first regular season game in team history in a rematch with San Antonio at 7:00 pm on Saturday, October 3rd at Cedar Park Center.
