Toronto Argonauts News Release

Toronto - The leading team in the CFL heads west on the 401 as Anthony Calvillo and the Montreal Alouettes come to Toronto this Saturday to take on the Toronto Argonauts at Rogers Centre, presented by Nissan. With kickoff set for 1:00 p.m., the game is great family entertainment that also features the home return on 2008's Most Outstanding Special Teams Player Dominique Dorsey.

As a fan and proud sponsor of The Toronto Argonauts, Nissan is giving Argos fans the chance to win a 2009 Nissan cube(r) at halftime. As well, the Jr. Cheer program, which features young dancers on the field with the Argos Cheerleaders, will perform at halftime.

The Toronto Argonauts and The Argos Foundation announced a partnership with the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) and the Toronto Foundation for Student Success on September 16 for a new program entitled Level The Playing Field, sponsored by Tim Hortons. In its inaugural year, the program will see football teams return to four Toronto-area high schools with the help of a $10,000 donation to each school. More than funding, Level The Playing Field features mentorship, education and events including Argos player ambassadors, cheerleader ambassadors, pep rallies and an Argos Game Day to honour each high school football team. This game, the North Albion Collegiate Cougars will be introduced with the Argos during player introductions. This Fall will mark the first time N.A.C.I. will field a football team since 1980. Saturday's 50/50 draw will benefit the programs of The Argos Foundation, including Level The Playing Field.

After the game, the popular See You on the Field returns. Fans can come down on the field to meet many of the Toronto Argonauts players and cheerleaders for autographs and photos. Supporters are also invited to join Argos players and the Argos Cheerleaders, presented by the Toronto Sun, at the Official Post-Game Party at Jack Astor's, 144 Front Street West, in downtown Toronto.
