WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Evan MacLane pitched 8.1 shutout innings and Memphis beat Sacramento, 6-0, to claim the Pacific Coast League championship at Raley Field on Friday night. The Redbirds toppled Sacramento in a three-game sweep, ending the River Cats' chances of winning a third consecutive PCL title. Memphis next plays the Durham Bulls of the International League in the Triple-A championship, a one-game, winner-takes-all playoff Tuesday in Oklahoma City. MacLane earned the victory, striking out eight, walking none and allowing nine hits. Sacramento, which scored 36 runs over four games in the first round against Tacoma, scored only two runs over three games against Memphis, getting shut out twice.
