
Skyforce To Host Open Tryouts In Minneapolis

Sioux Falls, S.D. (September 17, 2009) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce, the official NBA Development League affiliate of the Minnesota Timberwolves, announced today that they will host open tryouts for the 2009-10 season on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 10-11 at Patrick Henry High School located at 4320 Newton Ave. N. in Minneapolis, Minn.
Open tryouts offer local athletes an opportunity to showcase their talents in front of NBA D-League coaches while they compete to earn a position in the team's official training camp. Training camp is scheduled to begin in mid-November.
Registration on Saturday begins at 11 a.m. with the first session set to begin at 12 p.m. There will be a second session on Saturday evening that will begin at 5 p.m. The tryouts will conclude with one session on Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. Each session of the two-day tryout camp will last approximately two and a half hours.
Applicants must be eligible to play in the NBA Development League and are required to pre-register by submitting the official registration, release, disclosure and background check forms, along with a $125 nonrefundable fee. Tryout forms are available online (skyforceonline.com) or at the Skyforce office located at 2131 S. Minnesota Ave. in Sioux Falls. Completed forms and entry fee must be mailed to the Skyforce office no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2 to secure a spot in the tryout camp. Participants who register after the deadline or the first day of the tryout will be charged $150.
Season tickets and 12-ticket flex packs are on sale for the 2009-10 season. Discounts and benefits are also available for groups of 10 or more. Single game tickets will go on sale in early November.
