River Cats announce pitching match-ups for PCL Championship Series

West Sacramento, Calif. - The Sacramento River Cats announced today their starting pitching rotation for the Pacific Coast League Championship Series against the Memphis Redbirds that opens Tuesday night in Memphis, Tenn. Games 1 and 2 will be played at Memphis (both 5:05 p.m. starts) before the series returns to Raley Field for games 3 (Friday, 7:05 p.m.), 4 (Saturday, 7:05 p.m., if necessary) and 5 (Sunday, 1:05 p.m., if necessary).
Right-hander Chris Gissell will start for Sacramento in Game 1, as the River Cats aim for a third consecutive Pacific Coast League championship. Gissell will be followed by fellow right-handers Chad Reineke (Game 2), Jerome Williams (Game 3), Shawn Chacon (Game 4) and James Simmons (Game 5). Gissell, who was acquired as a free agent by Sacramento in late August after playing the majority of the season in Taiwan, also started Game 1 in Sacramento's first-round series victory over the Tacoma Rainiers. In that start, Gissell allowed two runs and struck out six batters over 5.0 innings to earn the victory and set the tone for a 3-games-to-1 series win. Memphis will counter with a rotation of left-hander Jaime Garcia (Game 1), right-hander Adam Ottavino (Game 2), left-hander Evan MacLane (Game 3), right-hander PJ Walters (Game 4) and a to-be-determined starter in Game 5. Garcia was also Memphis' Game 1 starter in the team's first-round sweep of the Albuquerque Isotopes. In that start, Garcia pitched 5.1 scoreless innings to earn the victory.
PCL Championship Series tickets are currently on sale as the team looks to capture its third straight championship. The River Cats have won a remarkable four (4) PCL Championships (2003, 2004, 2007 and 2008) and two Triple-A Championships (2007 and 2008) in the franchise's first nine (9) seasons. If the River Cats were to win this Championship Series and be crowned Pacific Coast League Champions for the third straight year, they would then play the International League Champion in the Triple-A Championship Game in Oklahoma City broadcast worldwide on ESPN2 (Sept. 22).

Playoff Promotional Schedule
The Championship Series promotional schedule will include Family Fun Fridays (with $1 hot dogs and $1 ice creams) on Sept. 18 and Sutter Health Post-Game Fireworks on Sept. 19.
Playoff Ticket Availability
Championship Series tickets are currently available for purchase. Individual game tickets range in price from $7 to $20, the same as regular-season prices. Groups of 20 or more can purchase playoff tickets at discount of up to $12 per ticket. Individual-game tickets for the playoffs will be available at the Raley Field Ticket Office, all Ticketmaster outlets and online at Rivercats.com.
