Myrtle Beach, SC- What a difference a day makes!

Twenty-four hours after the Red Sox offense was shut out and held to just two hits, the bats battered Pelican pitching on Saturday night in Salem's 10-4 victory. Six different Sox recorded multiple-hit nights, and Salem starter Kyle Weiland recovered from a rocky first inning to earn his first win of the season. Weiland gave up two runs on three hits in the first, but was perfect after that, retiring the final 13 batters he faced in five innings of work.

Myrtle Beach held a 2-0 lead after three innings before Salem put a four-spot on the board in the fourth. Mike Jones' two-run double tied up the score, Jason Place came home on Che-Hsuan Lin's single that was misplayed in left-field by Myrtle Beach's Cody Johnson. Luis Segovia, who went 2-4, hit a sac fly in the fourth to complete the scoring in the inning.

Salem added two more in the fifth when Luis Exposito connected for a two-out, two-run double. An inning later, third-baseman Jon Hee drilled his first professional home run, a solo shot that made it 7-2.

Ryne Miller and Kyle Fernandes each tossed two innings and allowed one run, as Myrtle Beach plated one in the seventh and the ninth.

The Red Sox and Pelicans meet in the rubber match on Sunday afternoon at 3:05. Salem starts lefthander Jose Capellan, while Myrtle Beach retaliates with righthander Eric Cordier. After seven meetings in 11 days, the Sox and Pelicans, after Sunday, do not meet again until June 12.
