Durham, NC - A walk off single from Ray Olmedo gives the Bulls an Easter weekend sweep in their season-opening series against the Norfolk Tides Sunday night at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

With the game tied at 1-1 at the bottom of the ninth and John Jaso on second, Olmedo connected with a line drive to left field off the first pitch from Norfolk's Jim Miller to drive in Jaso for the game-winning run.

Olmedo's heroics came at the tail end of what was a low-scoring pitchers' duel. Durham's starting pitcher Wade Davis went 4.0 innings allowing one run on two hits with five strikeouts before hitting his pitch count.

Davis was matched up against Norfolk's David Hernandez who also threw a gem before being pulled after hitting his pitch limit. He tossed 4.2 innings also allowing one run on two hits, including a solo shot by Olmedo in the third, while striking out nine Bulls batters.

Reliever Winston Abreu picked up the win for the Bulls after tossing two perfect frames to close out the game. His ERA remains at 0.00 after his second relief while his record moves to 1-0.

Olmedo accounted for all of Durham's runs, going 2-3 on the day with two RBIs and a home run, his second of the year.

Norfolk Tides catcher Matt Wieters, ranked the #1 prospect in baseball by Baseball America, finished the series 1-11 with two walks and five strikeouts.

The Bulls look to keep their winning strike alive against a new opponent on Monday. The Gwinnett Braves role into town for a four-game series making their first ever appearance at the DBAP. Tickets are available at www.durhambulls.com or by phone at (919) 956-BULL.
