Renegades Named SPHL Award Winners

The SPHL today released the names of the 2008-09 regular season awards and several Richmond Renegades were honored.

Dan Vandermeer was named first team All-Star while Beau McLaughlin made the second team. Renegades forward Ryan Busby and goalie Ryan Scott were named to the SPHL Rookie All-Star team.

Following is the complete list of awards:

Defense - Kyle Lundale - Col League MVP - Travis Kauffeldt - Hunt

Defense - Travis Martell - Knox Rookie of the Year - Michael Richard - TC

Forward - RYAN BUSBY - Rich Defenseman - Kevin Harris - Knox

Forward - Sam Bowles - Col Coach of the Year - Scott Hillman - Knox

In addition to the SPHL league awards, the Richmond Renegades voted on line for the Fan Favorite player to receive the Terry "Scouse" O'Neil Award. Forward RYAN BUSBY was the winner and received his trophy from Terry O'Neil prior to Saturday's game.
